Ruffles at the Rodeo

Howdy Y’all!!

As a proud Texan, that is a saying that I absolutely love to hear! And one of the best places to hear that in Texas is the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo!

My parents live in Houston, and while I was down there visiting, we decided to head out to the rodeo. Since it was a fairly humid/warm day, I needed the perfect outfit that was both cool and festive…

This ruffled, off-the-shoulder top was the perfect answer!

I love this top for many reasons: its off-the-shoulder, it’s a neutral color, and, for the best part, it has built-in straps so you don’t have to wear a strapless bra! For those of you gals who are a little busty, you know exactly what I’m talking about 😉

I added a fun, little pop of color with my new favorite earrings: they are part of the Sugarfix by BaubleBar collection at Target. They add just enough color and have this fabulous 90’s vibe (I always think of Saved By the Bell for some reason…maybe its the geometric patterns mixed with the colors)!

While we didn’t actually see the rodeo or any concert (the Houston Rodeo is famous for its amazing concerts!), we walked around the livestock show to check out the different animals.

That wall is where the post all of the winners from the rodeo events from the first night to the very last event!

I always enjoy looking at the animals (horses are my favorite!), but I am definitely a city girl!

We also did a little bit of shopping too!

If you ever want/need a cowboy hat or boots, you can find them in just about every color/size/pattern imaginable!

Thanks for the photo-bomb dad 🙂

How fabulous is my mom’s top?!

We finished off the day with some sweets!

This is seriously the best toffee ever!!!

But, you can’t go to any rodeo/carnival/fair without getting some cotton candy…my mom and I could eat our weight in cotton candy!

We had an amazing day, and I can’t recommend the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo enough! It’s perfect for families, friends, even a unique date!
