This summer, one of my besties, Mollie, and I decided to have a girls day and get my new favorite food…Pho!
If you have never had pho before, you are missing out! We decided to check out a pho place that came highly recommended – Pho Is For Lovers!
This adorable little Vietnamese restaurant is tucked into an unassuming strip mall, but don’t let the location or curb appeal fool you…it is delicious!
The inside decor is mostly slick white with pops of pink and black.
They have tons of different food options, but I would suggest that you stick with the pho! I usually get the Chicken Pho, but they also have beef, seafood, and tofu if you prefer those instead. For those of you who have never had pho, it is a scrumptious broth (with different herbs and spices) that is slow-cooked for hours to bring out tons of flavor. They add the rice noodles, and then you choose the protein. Its served with a side of jalapenos, sprouts, basil, and lime.
Just looking at this picture again makes my mouth water! I’m not a huge fan of jalapenos, but I mix in all of the other toppings, plus a little bit of sriracha for a slight kick. The combination is heaven!
Obviously, based on the picture above, I hated it 😉
Once we finished our fabulous pho, we scooted down further south on Greenville Ave so we could balance out our warm soup with an ice-cold treat.
Popsicles are the perfect treat for a warm day, and there is no better place to go for popsicles than Steel City Pops!
This Birmingham-born pop shop luckily has a store in Dallas. They have so many delicious flavors, so everyone will be able to find something they love!
They have icy fruit pops and creamy, milk-based pops – they even have cookie-based pops! Like I said, something for everyone!
Mollie ordered the Lavender Lemonade flavor, while I picked the Horchata pop (which is a traditional creamy cinnamon-y flavored Mexican dessert). The best part about these pops is that they are made fresh daily at the store! No shipping, no preservatives – just fresh, delicious ingredients!
The Lemonade Lavender was so refreshing and light, but I was obsessed with the Horchata flavor!
I think I finished off my popsicle in less than 5 minutes!
Our foodie girls day was such a success! Warm, belly-filling pho and icy popcicles are a strange, yet perfect combination for a hot summer day!
Go get yourself a bowl of pho and a popsicle, and enjoy!
